PHMY Welcomes John D. Saba, Jr.
May 2008

John’s primary focus is intellectual property litigation, including copyright, trademark, unfair competition, with a special emphasis on software and Internet technologies.  Additionally, John focuses on domain name dispute resolutions, electronic forensics, and privacy issues.

Prior to working in the private sector, John served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Texas Attorney General’s Office as a member of the “Cyber Crimes Unit” and the “Internet Enforcement Unit.” In his role with the AG, John served both as a criminal prosecutor and a civil litigant dealing with cases involving the Internet.

Prior to attending law school, John worked at Lucent Technologies for three years, as an Internet consultant where he was awarded the Lucent’s highest services award Lucent Technologies DNS 1998-99 President’s Club Award.

John is a 2002 Graduate of St. Mary’s Law School, where he served as a comment editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal. His published works include: Texas Legislature Goes Phishing: The New Anti-Phishing Act, 68 TEXAS B.J. 706 (2005), eProclamation: No More Spam in Texas, 66 TEXAS B.J. 660 (2003), and Internet Property Rights: eTrespass, 33 ST. MARY’S L.J. 367 (2002).

He is a 1996 graduate of Trinity University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He also speaks and presents at legal and industry seminars on various topics involving law and technology.  John was licensed to practice law in Texas in 2002 and is admitted to practice in the Western District of Texas.
