William D. Thompson
U.S. District Court Eastern District of Texas
Bill's law practice focuses primarily on products liability defense litigation. He defends large complex products liability cases involving automobiles, ATVs, motorcycles, outboard motors and household consumer products. He also practices in the areas of commercial litigation, UCC transactions, contract disputes, collections law and breach of warranty claims.
Prior to pursuing a law degree, Bill was an airline pilot for a major airline flying to destinations throughout North America. As a student at Baylor Law School Bill competed on Baylor’s nationally ranked advocacy teams winning numerous awards in competitions across the United States. In his third year at Baylor, Bill won the Wortham “Top Gun” trophy which is awarded to the top Baylor Law student trial advocate.
While still early in his legal career, Bill has already earned a reputation through his previous experience as a plaintiff’s attorney for using his unique problem-solving skills to effectively manage and resolve cases. Bill and his team develop their cases quickly and thoroughly to help clients make the most informed decisions possible.
When he is not working, Bill enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Ashlie, who is an attorney for Rackspace. When possible, he still enjoys the thrill of flying and teaching others how to fly. Bill also likes spending quality time with his dog “Finch” affectionately named after the fictional lawyer Atticus Finch from “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
